A compact, clumping groundcover with dark green foliage, this fast-spreading plant is ideal for underplanting and filling in spaces in mixed perennial gardens, as well as growing along garden and pathway edges. It produces masses of flower spikes with beautiful purple-blue flowers during spring, attracting butterflies and other pollinating insects. For best results plant in a full sun to light shade position, in rich, free draining soil.
