A giant in the Aloe kingdom, the Aloe Spectabilis has a broad rosette crown spanning up to two metres wide, and can grow up to six metres tall. The plant grows straight up as a singular crown, with no obvious offshoots or pups. The large thick leaves are covered in small spines, but as the plant grows taller the new leaves produce fewer of these spines. A spectacular feature of this Aloe is the flower spike which is multi-branching with numerous vivid yellow-orange racemes of blooms that sprout like fireworks from the top of the plant. Attractively unusual while young, and a fantastic feature plant when mature, this Aloe is a great choice for any garden or collector.
