This plant prefers morning sun or dappled shade. It does grow in full sun, although it will wilt easily once temperatures reach above 35C.
Avoid wilting by keeping soil moist, but not wet or soggy. This plant wilts fairly easily if it gets too dry, and recovers quickly when you water it.
To rejuvenate older plants and stimulate overall new growth, prune plants back to within 3 or 4 inches of the ground. Do this, when warm weather is expected in early spring if you have cool winters, or in late winter if you have mild and frost free winters.
