The foliage does look a bit like stained glass from a distance. A great indoor plant with beautifully patterned glossy leaves that's a popular plant with tropical gardeners as well. It has rounded, pale green leaves where the upper surfaces are marked with dark green blotches along the veins, while it has a deep purple colour underneath. Its clumping growth habit makes it a great under-story filler. Best planted in moist, shady gardens with good protection.
Generally they like the soil to be moist. This means watering the soil well and allowing the plant to drain off the excess water. Plants allowed to sit in water or kept too wet develop root rot very easily.
