A slender, purple skinned carrot with an orange centre. It's fast growing and prefers full sun and a friable, free draining soil with lots of organic matter. It makes a great companion plant for radishes and onions.
Purple skinned carrot has a very sweet flavour and keeps its colour well when cooked. It can be steamed, added to most casserole-type dishes, eaten raw or added to salads.
