The caterpillar fern, as its name suggests, has creeping rhizomes that look like caterpillars. As an indoor plant it likes indirect light. The soft and pale, silver-blue coloured leaves with arching fronds make it an excellent plant for hanging baskets or in containers for balconies and courtyards.

Apply liquid plant food during the growing season to promote lush, new growth.
Keep soil moist but not wet at all times, especially during the growing season. Overwatering can damage your plant and lead to fronds quickly turning brown.
Remove spent fronds with clean, sharp secateurs to keep the plant tidy and prevent dead leaves from draining energy from the plant.
