Fast growing, grafted, deciduous, medium-sized, fruiting tree has large, dark green leaves with massed clusters of scented, white with yellow-red speckled flowers in Spring followed by edible, large, free-falling, brown nuts encased in a prickly, green burr in Autumn. Ideal for full sun in large gardens. Golden yellow leaf tones in Autumn. Partially self-pollinating. Requires cold Winters and two different varieties for satisfactory fruiting. Use roasted and in cooking. Attracts bees.
