Chives are a perennial herb producing hollow, grass-like leaves and edible lavender pompom flowers.

With a mild onion flavour, can be used as a garnish or flavouring for salads, dips, sandwiches and soups. They also act as a natural pest repellent in and around your home and garden.

As companion plants they grow well with carrots, tomatoes, mustard greens, or cabbage. They can also be grown beneath roses to detract pests.
