Indigenous to Cootamundra in southern New South Wales it's a fast-growing evergreen small tree which has reddish-purple new growth which stands out in any garden setting. The lemon coloured small ball-shaped flowers are abundant in spring and are a spectacular contrast against the tree's feathery, silver-grey leaves.
Will adapt to any soil conditions but does best in well drained soils. Wattle looks great in rockeries or landscaped environments. It's a great focal point on patios, courtyards or terraces.
