An old favourite that is resistant to disease and produces long, tapering roots. Do not use fertilisers immediately before, or during the growth period, however, keep the plant well-watered. Perfect eaten fresh, steamed or made into carrot juice.

Cover seeds with a fine layer of soil and a little mulch, this stops the soil surface from caking and preventing the tiny seedlings from pushing through. Harvest approximately ten weeks after sowing.
