The Black Genoa Fig is a self-pollinating tree that is a reliable and heavy cropper with a vigorous spreading habit. The Fig Black Genoa is the most commonly grown variety in the backyard. It’s a fast growing, medium sized deciduous tree reaching three to five metres in height. During summer it bears squat, pear-shaped, purple skinned fruit with a dark-red very rich sweet flesh. Figs are great for making jams, drying, baked in pies and slices or eaten fresh.
