Following five successful decades of continued entrepreneurship, Flower Power is showing no signs of slowing down. In what has been a milestone year for the company, Family Business Australia has recently chosen to induct Flower Power into its Hall of Fame.

The Family Business Australia Hall of Fame recognises and rewards successful family businesses that have ‘best fit’ practices from which all family businesses can learn. After receiving a nomination from Flower Power’s accounting firm, Grant Thornton, the Family Business Australia selection committee undertook a thorough investigation into the Flower Power business. They were particularly impressed by Flower Power’s highly-regarded brand and product offering, which they felt represented quality, value, integrity and a professional spirit. These factors, along with Flower Power’s successful management transition between generations, set it apart as a worthy inductee. At Family Business Australia’s 20th Annual Conference, held in Alice Springs across September 9-12, John, Mark and Collin Sammut along with Michael Spiteri accepted this honour, joining eight other inductees from across the country for 2018.

Flower Power’s Chief Executive Officer, John Sammut, said “this is a testament to the hard work that my family, Michael and I, along with our many hundreds of past and present staff, have put in over 50 years. Our success is down to our people, and we are grateful to every person who has helped Flower Power grow into what it is today”.

With the Sammut family at the core of the Flower Power story, this recognition is the perfect way to cap off the company’s 50th anniversary year.
