A semi-aquatic, low growing groundcover that has aromatic, heart-shaped leaves variegated in splashes of various combinations of green, cream, pink, yellow, red and blue-green. Small white flowers appear in spring and summer. Ideal for shade to part shade of boggy areas or in and near shallow ponds. All parts of this plant are edible and are used in traditional south-east Asian cooking both fresh and cooked.
