Add colour to shady areas of your garden with this hardy, deciduous shrub. The Hydrangea Diamond Rouge produces spectacular, conical flower heads that are reminiscent of a crepe myrtle. The individual flowers are light pink to sherbet red in colour. This plant is ideal for adding interest to shady garden beds and the flowers are great for cut flower arrangements. Protect it from the hot sun and strong winds.
Cultivate the soil before planting. Dig a hole that is twice as wide and deep as the container. Remove the plant from the container and place it in the hole, so that the soil level of the plant is the same as the surrounding soil. Fill the hole with soil, tamp down firmly, and water well, even if the soil is moist.
