This Australian native from Lord Howe Island will add a rich burst of green to your garden space because of its beautiful, lush fronds. Slow-growing and hardy, a Kentia Palm will tolerate dark and dry corners of your house and a degree of neglect, but they grow best with bright indirect light.

Water only when the top layer of soil is dry. Your Kentia palm will also benefit from regular time spent outside in a shady spot. This is also a great time to hose it down and wash dust off.

Planting Advice

When planted in the garden mulching will help to keep the soil moist and discourages weeds. Over-pruning may cause permanent damage to the trunk and may make your palm susceptible to fungal infections. Apply a slow release fertiliser once or twice a year.

Watering needs

Pruning Advice

Trim old leaves when they turn brown. Over-pruning may cause permanent damage to the trunk and may make your palm susceptible to fungal infections.
