Add a point of interest to your garden with this hardy, evergreen perennial. The Liriope Evergreen Giant produces grass like, deep green leaves and upright spikes of rounded, and bell shaped, purple flowers in late spring and early summer. It is widely used in landscaping as a groundcover, and is also perfect for borders, edging along paths, rockeries, embankments and containers. It thrives in a partly shaded position in moist, well drained soil. It also tolerates light frost and periods of dryness. Cultivate the soil before planting. Dig a hole that is twice as wide and deep as the container. Remove the plant from the container and place it in the hole, so that the soil level of the plant is the same as the surrounding soil. Fill the hole with soil, tamp down firmly, and water well, even if the soil is moist.
Keep the soil of this plant moist, but not wet. Provide extra water during very dry periods.
To keep this plant looking tidy, remove any spent or scruffy leaves with a pair of sharp secateurs.
