Add a point of interest to your garden with this evergreen perennial. The Liriope Amethyst produces grass like, dark green leaves and upright spikes of rounded, and bell shaped, pink flowers in summer. It is widely used in landscaping as a groundcover, and is also suitable for planting between pavers, in rockeries, mixed borders and in containers. It thrives in a partly shaded position in moist, well drained soil. It also tolerates light frost and periods of dryness. This plant may be left undisturbed to form clumps or can be divided in autumn.

Cultivate the soil before planting. Dig a hole that is twice as wide and deep as the container. Remove the plant from the container and place it in the hole, so that the soil level of the plant is the same as the surrounding soil. Fill the hole with soil, tamp down firmly, and water well, even if the soil is moist.
To keep Isabella fresh, mow 4 to 5 centimetres above ground level with a catcher, once per year in July. For colder areas such as Canberra, mow in August instead. Do not mow in warm months.
