A very elegant, rather easy to grow bulb, with striking bright red, curved flowers and long, very skinny curving stamens that hang over the stem like spindly, spider's legs. This plant makes a fabulous show of colour when in bloom from late summer to autumn and flat greyish-green leaves appear after flowering is finished. Ideal for pots, rockeries and borders. It prefers a full sunny spot in fertile, well-drained soil.
