French Marigolds form mounds that are often wider than they are tall. These aromatic annuals are easy to grow and will brighten up your garden. They like any sunny site providing there is adequate drainage. Once the marigolds have established themselves, pinch off the tops of the plants to encourage them to grow bushier. Marigolds make good short-stemmed cut flowers for a small bouquet. The petals can be eaten and added to salads to give colour, interest and a peppery flavour.
