Grass Trees have a uniquely Australian look and grace many modern native gardens. These extremely slow growing, very long-lived plants, often with a single or multi-branched fire-blackened trunk, have stiff, narrow green leaves and tall (up to 4m), spear-like spikes of tiny cream flowers followed by tough, pointed, matte-black fruit capsules. Grass trees dislike any root disturbance, so ensure care is taken when transplanting to a sunny, well drained position.
