Once the site of a go-kart racing track, Flower Power Prospect is conveniently located in the Home Base Shopping Centre just off the Great Western Highway.
A row of tall conifers hides much of the Garden Centre from view from the highway making it a calm oasis despite its location. Find a parking spot in seconds with the huge carpark and step through the front doors into the homeware and giftware area. You’ll find a great selection of furniture, cushions, lanterns and many more items to add that finishing touch – but it’s hard not to be drawn straight out the doors and into the nursery.
With bursts of colour from flowers in bloom everywhere, the nursery is best navigated by doing a wide lap through the seasonal plants to the pots and the shade house filled with seedlings like herbs and veggies. Continuing on you will find the shaded plant area, a serene spot punctuated by the sound of running water from nearby fountains and a great selection of bonsai.
You’re next faced with the choice of continuing down the ramp to your right to the drive-through landscape area where you will find bagged products, bulk and blocks and pavers, or back into the store to peruse indoor pots and items like worm farms and compost bins.
Inside the store you’ll find Two Birds Cafe – perfect for putting your feet up after exploring the nursery. They offer everything from light snacks to a scrumptious full breakfast and lunch menu. Just be sure to try one of their locally famous coffees while you’re there.
