Planting Advice

Cultivate the soil before planting. Dig a hole that is twice as wide and deep as the container. Remove the plant from the container and place it in the hole, so that the soil level of the plant is the same as the surrounding soil. Fill the hole with soil, tamp down firmly, and water well, even if the soil is moist.

Watering needs

This plant requires regular watering, especially in the warmer months.

Pruning Advice

Do not prune bamboo during the growing season. To cut, do so just above the node. Choose where to cut carefully, as once that part of the bamboo is cut, it will not grow back.

Mulch well and keep moist in dry weather. The mulch will act as insulation so that in summer moisture isn't lost in evaporation and in winter it will help prevent the rhizomes and roots from freezing.
