These long crisp succulent white roots are great raw, pickled, stir-fried, steamed or raw. They're an easy to grow, large oriental radish with a crunchy texture and mild tangy flavour. In Japan, Daikon is often served as a fresh accompaniment to rice and sushi.

Sow in well prepared, well-drained soil in a sunny position. Sow 5mm (1/4”) deep in rows 25cm (10”) apart. Water and fertilise to ensure quick growth. Harvest six to nine weeks after sowing.
