Butternut pumpkin is a high-yielding, pear-shaped pumpkin that grows on a vine with a yellow-cream skin, a delicious deep-yellow flesh and flat green leaves which help give them some shade. It has a sweet, nutty taste and an orange fleshy pulp with a cavity of seeds in the bottom. As it ripens it turns a deeper orange and becomes sweeter and richer in taste.
