Best Husqvarna riding mower

If you know what to look for in a ride-on mower, you’re more likely to get the right machine for the job. There are lots of different elements to consider before you choose the right Husqvarna mower from our top four range: a Zero-Turn Mower, a Rider Mower, a Front Mower and a Garden Tractor. They’re each better for certain situations and requirements – so what’s the best Husqvarna riding mower for your job?

ZTR® Zero-Turn Mowers are great if you’ve got a large area to mow and you don’t want to waste time doing it. It’s hydraulic wheel drive lets our zero-turn mowers turn on its own axis, which helps you avoid missing patches when you’re negotiating around obstacles. They have wide cutting decks, to cut maximum grass in minimum time, their low centre of gravity makes cornering easy, and the powerful engines let them take on any terrain.

Husqvarna Riders have a tight turn radius for the ultimate in manoeuvrability, along with superior steering and front-mounted low cutting decks to get in below fencing, decks and benches. Riders can be equipped with various attachments to manage all the different elements of lawn care – the perfect one machine for the job.

Front Mowers have low, front-mounted cutting decks to reach hard-to-reach parts of the lawn, and trim grass before front tyres flatten them and beyond the reach of the cutters. while the AWD system and low centre of gravity offer maximum stability on uneven surfaces. Front mowers also let you switch accessories for whatever job you need at any time throughout the year.

Garden Tractors are an inexpensive and safe way to maintain your lawn, with foot pedals that offer greater steering control. It’s durable and versatile, perfect for general use all year round.

Best Husqvarna riding mower size

We have ride-on mowers of all different sizes, ranging from compact front mowers to larger zero-turn mowers. It’s important to check the size measurements as well as the weight to determine if it’s right for your lawn and if you’re going to be able to transport and store it. Remember that bigger isn’t always better – it’s about choosing the ride-on mower that’s right for your lawn.

Cutting decks can be anywhere from 75cm to 180cm wide. A cutting deck of 120cm or more will work well for larger areas with few or no obstacles, while one smaller than that will work better for a smaller area with objects to maneuver around.

Choosing your Husqvarna riding mower

If your lawn is uneven, look for a Husqvarna mower with a low centre of gravity and a wide base. If your lawn is also sloping, you may also want to look for one with good traction, to limit the possibility of slipping.

The size and terrain of your job will also dictate how much horsepower you need. Something like 31hp will get you going at speed – great for big areas – and is helpful if you need to get up hills. A mower with 24hp will get the job done reliably and will be able to tackle most terrains, while 18hp will be fine for small, even lawns.

If your garden is large and requires quite a lot of maintenance, you may want to choose a ride-on mower with interchangeable accessories. Options include sprayers, spreaders, aerators, sweepers and flail mowers.

What is the best Husqvarna trimmer?

Now that your lawn is mowed, you’ll need to finish the job by trimming those edges with a Husqvarna whipper snipper. A commonly asked question is about the difference between a grass trimmer and a grass edger – because they are different things.

A lawn edger is best used for cutting precise edges around the border of your lawn where it meets a driveway or footpath. A grass trimmer can also trim your lawn’s edges, but they can also trim any other parts of the lawn that a mower can’t reach, like between trees and shrubs and under low decks. Some trimmers also let you replace the cutting head with different attachments, like a blower, sweeper, hedge trimmer, or bristle brush.

Husqvarna trimmers come with a choice of battery power and petrol power. So what’s the best Husqvarna trimmer for you? Battery powered trimmers are quieter, don’t emit exhaust and don’t require you to have fuel on hand. They are also usually easier to operate, lighter and better balanced. Petrol trimmers, meanwhile, are often more powerful, so better for dense foliage, and they can’t run out of battery if you’re working with a larger space. They also often come with the option of interchangeable accessories, and are often at a lower price point than battery powered trimmers.
