Freedom & flexibility
When you choose a Flower Power Garden Care franchise, you’re choosing a lifestyle that allows you to work when you want in a territory you choose. Spend less time commuting and more time with family and friends. Put in the hard yakka one day and knock off early the next. It’s up to you.
Mowing and so much more
As a Flower Power Garden Care franchisee, you can choose which direction to take your business in. You can focus on simple mowing and maintenance, or you can pursue a complete garden business – performing everything from planting and irrigation to entire garden makeovers. Whatever you choose, we’ll back you all the way.
Grow without limit
There’s limitless income potential as a Flower Power Garden Care franchisee. A turnover of over $100,000 is a realistic goal for your first year, with plenty of further growth achievable for established franchisees.
In terms of staff, you can run your Garden Care franchise in any way you wish – whether you prefer to be a one-man band or employ other staff to assist, we’ll support you every step of the way. Some of our established franchisees began on their own with one trailer and now have several trailers and employees working for them, all with ongoing training and support from Flower Power. There’s no restriction on the number of employees or vehicles you can have, so you can grow your business without limit.
We also offer a genuine 12-week income guarantee period on commencement, which will help you focus on building your business in a positive, measured manner.
No experience necessary
From finance and manufacturing to the service industry, our franchisees have made the tree change from all walks of life, and many have had no garden or landscaping experience. But they all have three things in common: a can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and a desire to take control of their work and life.
Work close to home
We offer a range of territories in the Sydney metro area, all with plenty of room for you to grow your business. Most of our franchisees choose an area that’s close to home, which gives them flexibility and helps to reduce running costs.
Low entry cost
A low entry cost of $24,000 will get you into the business, while an additional investment for your trailer and equipment will provide you with everything you need to thrive (cost dependent on trailer size). Unlike many other franchise businesses, we don’t charge you a percentage of your turnover, and we don’t charge you for leads. Instead, a flat-rate monthly service fee covers all your marketing and support needs, giving you the security of fixed costs and leaving you free to go about growing your business.
Support from Australia’s largest retail garden centre business
Flower Power is a trusted, well-loved retail brand with 10 established Garden Centres all over Sydney plus one in the Hunter region. With such a great network of stores, you’re never far away from great products and advice. As a Flower Power franchisee, you’ll receive preferential service, delivery and pricing across all 11 stores and our wholesale growing nursery, Arborglen. This means minimal downtime and the opportunity to make a margin on products over and above the labour costs billed to your clients. In addition, you’ll have direct access to a fantastic support network of qualified landscapers, garden designers and horticulturalists.
It can be daunting going into a business on your own but we’re with you every step of the way. In your first few months, we’ll work closely with you, and even as your business grows, we’re just a phone call away for guidance and support. Unlike many other franchises, we also provide hands-on support. If you need a hand on a job, we’ll be there with our sleeves rolled up ready to help, because your success is our success.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of marketing support will I receive?
With over 24,000 customers visiting our stores each week and more than 700,000 loyal Garden Lovers Club members, you’re backed by a trusted, well-loved retail brand. Every week, we’re approached by customers wanting to know how they can take advantage of our great service around their home – so there’s no shortage of leads! As you grow, you’ll find many of your leads will be referrals from satisfied clients. If you wish to go above and beyond with your own marketing, your extra efforts will be rewarded with an even more lucrative franchise.
Will I have guaranteed work when I start?
While you’re undergoing your two-week introductory training program, at no cost to you we will advertise your business in the local area. Once you’ve finished your training program, you’ll be able to step into work and hit the ground running, with plenty of ongoing support from us.
What does a typical day look like?
There’s no such thing as a typical day as a Flower Power Garden Care franchisee, and that’s the beauty of this business. One day you may be redesigning a garden, the next you may be maintaining a strata property or doing scheduled garden maintenance, irrigation or turfing.
Does Flower Power offer finance?
While Flower Power does not offer finance, we are happy to assist by putting you in touch with finance brokers.
Does Flower Power provide professional legal or financial advice?
We highly recommend that you consult your own solicitor and accountant before signing the Franchisee Agreement. If seeking finance, you’ll also need to consult with your business planner to ensure you’re financially prepared.
Does Flower Power offer a trial period?
Absolutely! Before you sign on the dotted line, we give you the opportunity to do a trial, because we want you to be confident when you join us. This trial period can be anywhere from four hours to two weeks, and involves spending time on the job with our franchisees to get a feel for the business and ensure it meets your expectations.
What kind of training do you provide?
Once you’ve signed your Franchisee Agreement, you’ll undergo a two-week formal training program, which includes:
- Residential and commercial garden maintenance
- Plant identification and culture
- Pest identification and culture
- Soil and landscape supplies
- Garden makeovers
- Turfing
- Irrigation
- General handyman requests
- Bookkeeping, quoting, invoicing and maintenance
- Small landscaping projects
After this formal program, you’re ready to get to work – but the training never stops, and we’re always available to offer support and assistance.
I wish to further my industry knowledge. Will Flower Power support my study?
We’re always here to teach and guide you, but we also welcome the opportunity for you to expand on your knowledge of the industry so that you can further grow your business.
How long before I’m up and running?
You can be up and running in a matter of weeks from your first in-person meeting with us. Once you’ve sought advice from your solicitor and accountant, and paid your deposit, there is a 7-day cooling off period. At this point, you’ll pay the balance and become the proud owner of your very own Flower Power Garden Care franchise, ready to embark on your two-week training program!
